“Where Strategy Meets the Spotlight”
Featured in global media outlets, Johan Obdola shares insights on geopolitics, transnational threats, and the future of global security.
This section brings together selected interviews, articles, and international media appearances, alongside exclusive visuals, strategic photography, and symbolic graphics captured throughout his fieldwork and leadership engagements. These elements offer a compelling narrative that reflects both expertise and impact.
Strategic Moments – In the Field, At the Table.
A visual chronicle of Johan Obdola’s journey through global strategy, official missions, and human engagement.
Participating as a featured speaker at an international conference on irregular migration held in Cairo, Egypt, Johan Obdola engaged with senior government officials from East Africa, the European Union, and international institutions. These images reflect critical moments of global dialogue on security, human mobility, and strategic cooperation.
In 2017, Johan Obdola held high-level discussions on hemispheric security with the then Secretary General of the Organization of American States (OAS), in Washington, DC. The meetings addressed regional instability, transnational threats, and the deteriorating situation in Venezuela. Also featured are moments with senior defence and military representatives from OAS member states.
Visit to the Office of the Prosecutor – International Criminal Court, The Hague
In The Hague, I spent a full week presenting “The Black Book of the Revolution” — a detailed and harrowing account of state-sponsored crimes in Venezuela, including assassinations, enforced disappearances, and systematic torture perpetrated by the narcoterrorist and criminal regime of Venezuela.
Despite the gravity and volume of the evidence submitted, I have, to this day, received no formal acknowledgment or response from the International Criminal Court.
As a personal note: In one of the photographs, I appear wearing sandals. Just before this visit, I was injured during a covert field operation in the Middle East and was still walking with crutches. Even then, I made it to The Hague — because some truths must be carried to justice, no matter the cost.
In a world that proclaims justice, silence has become complicity.
A Lifelong Bond with the Gulf Region
Over the years, I have had the privilege of building enduring ties across the Gulf region, with a particularly deep connection to the United Arab Emirates — a nation that has become my second home. My work and presence have taken me throughout Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Sharjah, and Ras Al Khaimah, where I’ve had the honour of meeting distinguished officials, esteemed members of the Royal Family, and respected figures from the federal government.
Among the most treasured of these relationships is my longstanding friendship with the Al Ghurair family, alongside many others who have welcomed me with unmatched generosity and respect.
In Oman, I’ve had the opportunity to collaborate with senior members of the Royal Omani Armed Forces. In Qatar, Bahrain, and Kuwait, meaningful connections and friends have also been forged through shared missions and trust. While I have not yet visited the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, I am proud to maintain valued friendships within the Kingdom — and remain committed to deepening cooperation throughout the broader Gulf region.
These images reflect not only moments of diplomacy and dialogue but a journey of mutual respect, cultural affinity, and enduring strategic collaboration.
Global Engagement in Security and Strategic Forums
Across decades of service, I have been honoured to participate in high-level military, police, and government conferences across Latin America, the Caribbean, the Middle East, and Europe. These engagements — spanning naval strategy, counter-narcotics operations, national security, and transnational threat coordination — reflect a deep commitment to advancing global security through dialogue, training, and strategic foresight.
This gallery offers a brief visual account of select international conferences and official events in which I have participated, many of them in direct collaboration with senior military leaders, law enforcement officials, and government representatives.
Each moment captured here speaks to a mission rooted in unity, resilience, and the constant pursuit of a safer world.
During multiple missions in Afghanistan, Johan Obdola engaged directly with senior officials from the Ministries of Defense and Interior in Kabul, while also deploying to various provinces across the country. His work included field observations, high-level advisory support, and strategic engagement with military and police units operating in conflict-affected zones. These photographs reflect both institutional briefings and ground-level realities amid one of the world’s most complex security landscapes.
